Experience

Hello Tutees! I am currently an associate doctor in one of New Jersey's top sports medicine groups. I have tutored both medical physiology and medical biochemistry (Medical Physiology by Guyton&Hall-the medical student's physio "bible" ) to medical students, receiving A's in all of my medical school biochemistry and physiology courses. I tutor all levels (high school, undergraduate, and graduate/med school level physio/biochem/anatomy). Ever since undergrad I have become fascinated with how the human body works. As both a physiology/biochem/anatomy tutor and a doctor, one of my primary goals is to help others understand what is going on in their bodies. What makes me unique is that, as a doctor, everyday I am faced with the opportunity to help all different types of people understand the function and structure of the human body. After all, patient education is crucial! (to those med and pre-med students out there). This means that I must be able to explain human physiology/biochem/anatomy in a way that anyone can understand. Thus, I am able to adapt to any learning style that I may be faced with as a tutor. I have a passion for teaching others, which is one of the reasons I became a doctor! It combines my love of studying the human body with teaching. I am known to be very patient with my students, and have experience teaching students with all learning styles from different educational backgrounds and levels. I have taught many students with learning differences/disabilities and teach at whatever pace the student desires. One of my biggest things is that if you can understand and teach a concept yourself you can do well on any exam, anywhere. I often have my students explain and teach concepts back to me so that I am confident in their understanding of the material. I will do whatever it takes to help my students understand concepts and succeed! Relevant pre-clinical coursework I have taken: Neuroanatomy, Anatomy I&II, Physiology I-III, Microbiology I&II, Pathophysiology I&II, Biochemistry I&II, Histology, Embryology, Human Genetics, Cell Biology, General Biology Feel free to contact me to set up your first lesson! -Dr. R
